The brand
Behind The Rock’s tequila
Teremana is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s tequila brand, launched in March 2020 with Dany Garcia, Jenna Fagnan and Ken Austin. The López family makes the tequila at Destilería Teremana de Agave in Jesús María, in the Jalisco highlands, and is also a co-owner.
The range is straightforward: unaged Blanco, oak-aged Reposado and longer-aged Añejo. All three are 100% agave tequilas and bottled at 40% ABV, or 80 proof, for the US.

Special-edition bottles
Teremana’s limited Craft Editions include a blue-painted Blanco bottle inspired by Azul agave (A. tequilana) and a copper-colored Reposado bottle inspired by its stills.

Production method
Brick ovens, open fermentation and copper pots
Mature highland Azul agave is roasted for three days in brick ovens. The cooked agave is shredded to extract its juice, then fermented in open tanks. Double distillation takes place in handmade copper pot stills.
Teremana Blanco is unaged. Reposado spends at least three months in American whiskey barrels, and Añejo at least 12 months.
