Choose the expression
Blanco for fresh citrus, Reposado for oak, Añejo for a stirred drink
For a first Teremana Margarita or Paloma, choose Blanco if you want the unaged style. Choose Reposado if you want the maker’s oak-and-vanilla notes in the drink. Añejo is the natural choice for Teremana’s Old Fashioned, where its oak character works with agave nectar and bitters in a stirred drink.
All three are 40% ABV / 80 proof in the US. The difference is maturation: Blanco is unaged, Reposado has a three-month minimum in American whiskey barrels, and Añejo a 12-month minimum. See the full bottle comparison and production method.
Three starting points
Make a drink that leaves room for the tequila
A simple Teremana Margarita
Use 60 mL (2 US fl oz) Blanco or Reposado, 30 mL (1 US fl oz) fresh lime juice and 15 mL (½ US fl oz) agave nectar. Shake with ice, then strain over fresh ice. These are rounded metric measures based on Teremana’s traditional Margarita formula. Lime acidity and nectar sweetness vary, so adjust the sweetener to your taste.
Teremana’s grapefruit Paloma
Use 60 mL (2 US fl oz) Blanco, 30 mL (1 US fl oz) grapefruit juice, about 22 mL (¾ US fl oz) lime juice and 15 mL (½ US fl oz) simple syrup. Combine these ingredients and a pinch of salt in a highball glass over ice. Top with club soda and stir gently. This follows the maker’s Mana Paloma proportions with rounded metric measures. Start with less syrup if your grapefruit juice is already sweetened.
Añejo Old Fashioned
Use 60 mL (2 US fl oz) Teremana Añejo, a small barspoon of agave nectar and two dashes of your preferred orange or aromatic bitters. Stir with ice and strain over a large cube; add an orange peel. Start lightly with the nectar, then adjust. Teremana also gives a sweeter maple variation in its recipe.
Keep your first serve simple when deciding between expressions. A heavily sweetened or strongly flavored drink makes it harder to judge the difference you are paying for.

For a small gathering
Measure the base; add ice when you serve
For four Margaritas at the measures above, combine 240 mL tequila, 120 mL fresh lime juice and 60 mL agave nectar. Chill the mixture, then shake one quarter of the base (105 mL) with ice for each drink just before serving. Shaking adds dilution as well as chilling.
A 750 mL bottle supplies twelve 60 mL tequila portions, leaving 30 mL. Plan your number of serves from the measured pour; mixer volume and melting ice do not change how much tequila each glass contains. For Palomas, add the soda in each glass so it stays lively.
Buying the bottle
Compare bottle prices
Old Town Tequila’s October 4, 2026 US 750 mL listings were about $32 for Blanco, $35 for Reposado and $39 for Añejo. Choose between them mainly for the oak profile you want.

Quick answers
Questions about Teremana cocktails
Which Teremana tequila should I buy for a Margarita?
Teremana Blanco is the straightforward unaged choice for a fresh citrus Margarita. Reposado is an alternative if you want its oak-and-vanilla style. Both are 40% ABV in the US, and Teremana’s traditional Margarita recipe uses either.
Can I use Teremana Añejo in a cocktail?
Yes. Teremana uses Añejo in its Old Fashioned recipe with agave nectar and bitters. Its longer barrel maturation suits a stirred drink where you want oak character.
How many cocktails can I make from a 750 mL Teremana bottle?
A 750 mL bottle of Teremana makes twelve cocktails using 60 mL of tequila each, with 30 mL left. Smaller or larger spirit measures change that count.
Can I prepare Teremana Margaritas ahead of time?
Yes. You can measure and chill the Teremana Margarita mixture of tequila, fresh lime juice and agave nectar ahead. Shake each portion with ice before serving to add the normal chilling and dilution; taste the fresh lime mixture before serving.
Is Teremana tequila kosher?
Yes, Teremana’s unflavored, CRT-approved 100% agave tequila is acceptable as kosher under STAR-K’s guidance.†
† This answer concerns the Teremana tequila in the drink. Check mixers, bitters, liqueurs and other cocktail ingredients separately. STAR-K’s tequila guidance accepts unflavored, CRT-approved 100% agave tequila without certification. It prefers reliable certification for reposado, añejo and cristalino, and excludes mixtos and specified wine or cask labels. Check the full exclusions against the bottle; this general acceptance is separate from brand certification. Sources checked October 14, 2026.
