The brand

Casa Dragones focuses on sipping, blending and presentation

Casa Dragones was founded in 2009 by Bertha González Nieves and Robert W. Pittman. It connects modern tequila production in Tequila, Jalisco with a brand home and tasting experiences in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato.

The advertised range checked on 4 October 2026 comprises Blanco, Reposado Mizunara, Añejo Barrel Blend, Joven and 200 Copas, the añejo cristalino created in collaboration with Karol G. All five covered US 750 mL releases are 40% ABV / 80 proof. Their differences lie in maturation, blending, clear-versus-aged appearance and presentation.

Modern production

The brand describes steam-and-water extraction and volcanic aquifer water

Casa Dragones describes Azul agave (A. tequilana) grown in Tequila’s volcanic lowlands, with an approximately seven-year growing cycle before harvest. Its sustainability page explicitly says it extracts the juice with steam and water. Fresh spring water from aquifers associated with the Tequila volcano is purified before use.

Casa Dragones presents its extraction process as a way to save water and energy. It does not publish the equipment or measured savings on the pages we checked.

Each aged expression has its own account. Reposado rests exclusively in new Japanese Mizunara oak. Añejo Barrel Blend combines tequilas matured separately in new French and new American oak. Joven blends silver and extra-aged tequila associated with new American oak. 200 Copas is an añejo cristalino aged over 12 months in custom American oak; its page does not specify the color-removal method.

Tequila is made in Jalisco; San Miguel is the tasting home

Casa Dragones is made by Destilería Leyros, NOM 1489, in Tequila, Jalisco.

La Casa Dragones and the brand’s tasting room are in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. Their location does not make the tequila Guanajuato-made. The official Joven page also describes crystal bottles crafted in Mexico City; bottle manufacture is another separate part of the product.

What it costs

Blanco is the least expensive introduction. Reposado Mizunara, Añejo Barrel Blend and Joven each make a different bet on wood, blending or presentation; the oldest-sounding name is not necessarily the most expensive.

For a gift

Joven adds glasses or a personal message; the sipping set offers three styles

Casa Dragones’ US Joven Gift Set pairs its engraved crystal decanter with two Riedel Ouverture tequila glasses. The Sipping Tequila Gift Set contains three 375 mL bottles: Blanco, Reposado Mizunara and Añejo Barrel Blend. Joven labels and Joven gift packs can be personalized with a message of up to 22 characters.

For US orders placed through Casa Dragones’ website and fulfilled by ReserveBar, the brand says each expression comes with its blue box, except the Blanco six-pack and Añejo four-pack, whose bottles are not individually boxed. Other retailers’ inclusions and delivery timing need checking. The ordinary 750 mL bottle prices above exclude personalization, glassware, multi-bottle sets and special artist editions.
