The spread is especially wide for the two higher-priced bottles: Don Julio 1942 runs from about $21 to $74 in these menus, and Clase Azul Reposado from about $21 to $85. Check the bar’s price before ordering one of them; the figure in the table is the middle of the observed prices.
How much extra does reposado or añejo cost?
Casamigos Reposado cost about $1 more than Casamigos Blanco across six venues that listed both in the same stated pour size. At Somerset in Cincinnati, the 1.5 oz prices were $10 for Blanco and $11 for Reposado. At Mi Vida in Virginia Beach, 2 oz was $16 and $17, respectively.
Moving from Don Julio Reposado to Don Julio Añejo added about $2 across four menus with equal-size pours. Mi Vida listed 2 oz at $18 for Reposado and $20 for Añejo. The Soluna menu in Elkridge, Maryland listed 2 oz at $17 and $21, a $4 difference.
These extra costs are the middle of the price differences at the matched venues, rounded to whole dollars. Check both bottles on your bar’s menu when choosing an older expression. For the differences in the tequila itself, see blanco versus reposado tequila and reposado versus añejo tequila.
Espolòn Reposado versus Casamigos Reposado
Changing brands can produce a different price step at each bar. Mi Vida’s 2 oz listings were $15 for Espolòn Reposado and $17 for Casamigos Reposado, a $2 difference. Soluna listed the same 2 oz comparison at $11 and $16, a $5 difference. Both examples come from the October 2026 menus linked above.
Check the pour size and the final bill

A 2 oz pour contains one-third more tequila than a 1.5 oz pour. Some menus in our survey specify one of those sizes; many give only a price or the word “shot.” Ask how much the bar pours when comparing prices. Our guide to how many ounces are in a shot explains serving sizes and conversions.
The table uses the price of the serving the bar offers. If a bar lists a 2 oz pour, we use that price without converting it to a smaller shot. Cocktail prices, bottle service and tequila flights cover different orders; compare their own menu prices and serving details.
For the final bill, check sales tax, automatic gratuity and service charges. At Central Bar + Restaurant in Bellevue, the menu lists 20% automatic gratuity for parties of eight or more, unless specified before ordering. Tzuco in Chicago lists a 3.5% surcharge on all checks that guests can ask to have removed. Those conditions affect what you pay beyond the tequila price.
Where these prices come from
We collected published menus from 22 US bars, restaurants and hotel venues in October 2026. The wider survey covers 1,121 tequila prices across 454 expressions and 164 brands, drawn from 25 menus. This table selects 18 expressions across 12 brands, using 198 menu listings.
Each venue contributes one price per bottle. We choose an explicitly listed shot first; otherwise, we use 1.5 oz when offered, then the closest stated size. A standalone price with no stated size also contributes. We sort those prices and use the middle value—the median—rounded to a whole dollar. With an even number of prices, the median is the average of the two middle values.
The main figures combine the offered pour sizes, including unstated sizes. The aging comparisons use equal stated sizes within each venue’s same menu. These estimates describe the venues we checked, with the number of contributing menus shown for every bottle. The expandable details above link the original menus and list the offered pours.
